A Brief History. . .

The St. Clair County Library Bookmobile is our branch on wheels! The bookmobile offers traditional library services like checking out books, movies, video games and more, as well as issuing library cards! Materials checked out on the bookmobile can be returned to the bookmobile at a regularly scheduled stop, or to any of the brick and mortar branches around the county!

While St. Clair County Library has had bookmobile service off and on again for over a century, the current bookmobile launched in summer 2025, and is named for the late Library Board Chairperson David Whipple.
